A 3 minute Hand/Wrist Floss.
When it comes to addressing pain/discomfort/irritation, fascia flossing is generally where I begin both with clients and for myself.
The fascia is a network of connective issue that wraps around, protects, and bolsters basically every structure in our bodies. We can think of there being essentially three types of tissue: healthy muscle tissue, fascia, and scar tissue. We don’t have the same receptors to the brain from fascia and scar tissue as we do from healthy muscle tissue. So, these denser tissues can often generate a surprisingly high amount of resistive force. Flossing can help dissolve this denser tissue, hopefully resulting in a sense of release and ease.
Wrist tension and discomfort is something I come across with great frequency in clients of various occupations — writers, chefs, drivers, etc. If you text at all, the chances are high that you also could benefit from a little hand/wrist flossing.
I recorded this informal vid for a client, so thought I’d share it with you, too. Give this 3 minute practice a try and see how it feels. Can’t wait to hear how it goes!
